The Stow Cotswold Festival runs every other year on the third Saturday in July in the lovely Cotswold market town of Stow-on-the-Wold. Its aim is to promote Stow and celebrate traditional Cotswold life, crafts and heritage. The next Festival will be held in 2023 in the Square on Saturday 15th July 2023 with free admission and plenty of organised parking.

Visitors will receive a warm welcome as townspeople pull out the stops to celebrate their community’s colourful past and what has made it into one of today’s worldwide tourist destinations.

The one-day event showcases local crafts, produce and skills alongside a packed programme of free entertainment for all the family, culminating in an evening of live music, food and drink. Shops, businesses and pubs spill out onto the pavements to share festivities from 11am to 11pm. Visitors will enjoy organised attractions including a buzzing market selling everything from modern-day crafts and gifts to hot food and charity goods and of course our giant charity tombola. A family area will feature a host of children’s activities.

All the action centres on Stow’s atmospheric Square – which witnessed a key historical event. At the ancient Market Cross, the leader of the Royalist troops surrendered to the Parliamentarians at the 1646 Battle of Stow, the last major skirmish in the First English Civil War.

The Festival’s proceeds are donated to three local charities.
